Transition from live to f/t

What do you think id the best way to transition a 12 week old baby normal BP from live mice to f/t? I don't want to risk an injury or parasites and have never had to transition a snake before... Any ideas, pointers, or even just plain don'ts?? Thanks everyone!

First switch him to live rat crawlers so he can get the taste of rats and then switch him to f/t rats.

Most snakes have no problem making the switch. Just leave the rodent out to thaw for a few hours before feeding and warm it up a bit just before you feed (I use a hair dryer). Hold the rodent with some tongs and wiggle it in front of your snake. That's all there is to it.

I think that given enough time and enough tricks (in some cases), just about any ball and most other snakes can be transitioned. A couple of months ago I worked around a few ideas over the course of 3 weeks and transitioned a 13 year old BP that had never eaten F/T before. The previous owners had tried to switch him over on several occasions but he never took - sometimes you just need a little luck and usually a lot of patience if they don't switch over on the first try.
