    Hissing?
Ok so i picked up this normal female super cheap at the the reptile show (go figure) anyways she had stuck shed took care of that and what looks like dimples in her eye.

Well anyways between last night and tonight i have noticed every now and then ill hear just one simple hiss. And thats it. She "sleeps" all day never see her move, never hear the hissing noise.

But around this time she becomes active and every now and then u will hear it.

Check her nose no stuck shed causing the noise, checked mouth completely ok no RI, mucus, or anything even looking like a RI.

Any idea what this could be? She does it like every 30-60 mins. And its just one quick exhale of air it sounds like.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I've had my big normal male do that occasionally, as well as some of the snakes I used to keep. I swear it was like a sigh. Never had an RI problem, and usually it was around shed, I'vd noticed it shortly before and after. Just keep an eye on temps and continue to check for RI symptoms. You should be fine. Don't let someone scare you into thinking he has an RI either, just be vigilant and you'll/he'll be okay :P

you sound like you know what your doing

Iv been checking her temps/ for a RI for the past 48 hrs or so and even at the show and after i brought her come i checked. Shes just roaming around now but every now and then she lets off like a puff of air.

It sounds like a RI to me but shes showing no other signs

Ya, that's what the three I've had do that are like as well. Just keep checking for signs, and as always, head to the vet if your ever worried. Is there condensation in the enclosure? Maybe a bit of water got into the nasal passage? I've heard them do this after a soak so maybe thats it?

She had a soak sat and another one sunday to remove the stuck shed

I just rechecked her and at the back of her throat is a bit of like bubbles. Maybe she is starting up a RI. Its not all over her mouth just at the back near the throat.

Yea seems she has Bubbles in the back of her mouth. Not much just a little bit. So im not to sure. Between his hissing and striking at me its not to easy to keep her mouth open. Shes close to 1800 grams so...

Btw if it is indeed a RI should u lower the humidity? or raise it?

Imma call vet in morning but she cannot visit till friday when i get paid

Vet should only be around $60, paid $20 for her. So in the end ill be paying $80 not as good as i originally planned but if i throw my mojo or pinstripe with her next season what she produces will make me my money back + allowed me to get her a good home where shes well cared for.

Tho this seems to be a major set back for her going this season. Do you think she could overcome this RI (if it is indeed what it is) in 2-3 months then start pairing a mojo and pin with her and hopefully get a clutch? Bad idea? or just wait till next season?

Yea i seen that. Unfortunately its a lot more expensive then a vet visit.

Between the mister + the medicine he puts in it. Will be more then the vet visit.

Just to buy the procuct he uses cost

    Total: €234.91

Since it has to be shipped from over seas lol
