Boa Purchase

I've been into ball pythons for a while, and I have had an itch to get a boa for a while. I was looking into a Hog Island Boa because they are on the smaller side correct? Or a Hog Island Dwarf Boa.

I would have gotten one already, but the size of most Boas have been keeping me at bay. Their husbandry seems to be close to what a BP would require and some people have told me they would make a perfect first boa. So, whats the forum's opinion? Would a Hog Island be a small, and decent first boa?

P.S. I'm open to the idea of other Boas, but keep in mind I'm looking for one with the standard/triangle style head, unlike the Rainbows and stuff.

Yes a hog island boa is smaller... They will only get about 5/6 feet long. One of my friends just bought three of them. I have two rosy boas, and very highly recommend them.they are small as well, only about three feet maybe four. They need no special humidity and are very very docile. Thanks Dryates, thats a smokin' RTB :cool: but they are one of the larger boas. I don't know for sure, but I think they get 9-12 feet. :O

I think I've pretty much settled on a Hog Island Boa, I handled my first one today...and I'm in love! ;)
