    Can savs see infrared lights?
    Hey guys

well today i decided to take the plunge and get a sav!

He is set up right now. the only problem is the CHE i got with him doesnt work and its not like i can return it because i bought this privately

So i want to go out and buy a 100W infrared bulb (the one that glows red) so i can use it to heat his enclosure at night

will this red bulb be okay so use at night?

    thanks

I have put the red bulbs on other monitors and they would freak out. I have never put one on my sav's before. You could always go ahead and buy it, turn it on and watch your sav for a while. If any strange behavior I would turn it off and get a different light. With many reptiles red/black lights can mess up their vision. I have not read anything about it being bad for savs though...:)

Stick with CHE, only way to get proper temps easy.

CHE can reach 400+f and easily maintain your 130F+ basking spot.

Ive had a different experience. I bought a 150 watt CHE and let it run for like 5 hours and it did no better than the 150 watt sun glo bulb I already had.

Thats why i picked up a infrared because ive had 2 CHE's now that dont work :l
