    New BP ?
I recently purchased a Black Pastel BP. She is a beauty! I have had regular BP's in the past and never really did proper research on how to get them aclimated to their new home. How long should I wait before I start handling her? Should I make sure she eats before I handle her? Also, after feeding how long should I wait before handling her? Just a few questions.....yes I know there are many different answers all over different sites. I've looked into it but feel this site has the most people who will answer with out the BS! LOL! Thanks in advance!!!

firstly congratulations on your new black pastel.. :gj:

what i normally do for new additions .. is quarantine.. ;)
i separate them from the main collection around 30-60 days.. :snake:

as for handling... normally i give them a week with no disturbance with a hide and handling... after week i will try to feed them.. after the feed wait a couple of days.. then i start handling them... once they they get to a good feeding routine.. i handle them more so they are use to it.. :gj:

    hope this helps.. :D

I always give my new acquisitions a week to settle in before I try to feed them. I will only handle them once they have had a few substantial meals. I believe that a snake only tolerates being handled.
