Rose-Hair Not Eating.. (Very worried)

For the past 6 weeks or so my rose-hair has not been eating any crickets. It also hasn't molted yet and I have had it for around 7 months now. Is something seriously wrong or do they go off-feed randomly?

What could be the issue here? And should it have molted by now?

Make sure your humidity is good......they will usually go off like that when they are going to molt. as long as it is drinking it should be fine.

As was said above, probably going into molt. Give lots of water and keep the humidity up.

How big is your rose hair? An adult? Male or female? Rose hairs are notorious for going on long fasts. If it is coming up on a molt it will fast also. If it is an adult it will not molt often. My rose hair is an adult and molted this year but the last time she molted was in 2005. As long as the abdomen looks nice and plump I would not worry. Any pics?

Boanerges I am not sure if it is male or female to be honest. I got it from petco about 7-8 months ago. I know petco isn't the best place to buy anything from but I kinda got attached to the thing by seeing it everytime I went in there.

What are some good ways to raise humidity? I have it in one of those plastic medium sized critter cages. From research on tarantula forums and whatnot I came to the conclusion that they do well just at the temperature in your house, so a heating source really isnt nessicary.

Would draping a small damp rag on top of half of the plastic cage raise humidity well enough to allow it to molt?

Any more suggestions would be great.

As long as your house does not drop like below 67 your T will be fine. Rose Hairs like their habitats dry and as long as you have a nice filled water dish it should molt okay. If you wanted you could over fill the water dish so the whole tank is not wet but and area of the tank will be a bit more humid if you have humidity issues in the area you keep him/her.

I have an 11 year old female rosey, she hadn't molted in almost 3 years and was off feed for almost 6 months before she finally molted. Like the others have said, keep the water dish full and she/he will molt when good and ready. :D
