    Is this scale rot!?
He never had this, seems like it started during breeding (he's been a great lover). I noticed it happen three weeks after his last shed.

Its only on those 9 scales or so

Looks like it to me. I understand their tubs can get nasty during breeding? Maybe that's how it happened? Anyhow...keep him on clean, dry paper and keep an eye on it. I'd consider a vet for antibiotics if it gets worse or spreads. And I would cease breeding until it gets better, too. BUT...I'm no breeder and am speaking strictly from an over-protective-mommy sort of view. An experienced breeder may think it's ok to breed...I don't know. I just know I wouldn't risk long term health for short term breeding.

Got you! Yah I figured dirty tubs would be a no no. So far he still eating still breeding. Thinking bout putting triple ointment and seeing what happens after a shed.

    Hi,

I would probably pull him from the breeding rota until it has cleared up.

I know the females in my small collection always make a mess in the tubs when the male is introduced and he would most likely heal far better if his environment was as clean as possible.

Just my £0.05 ( adjusting for exchange rate ).

Bacitacin works well. Clean the area off with anti-bacterial soap and water, then put a thin layer of bacitracin on it. Do it every couple of days, and also make sure he's on clean, dry substrate---like Judy said, paper towel is probably best, just because you can always tell when it's wet and needs changed.

I had a male BP rescue that came to me with his belly spotted with scale-rot. After a couple sheds with the above treatment, he was back to perfection :)
