Still Refusing to Eat!!!!
I have made threads previously on these same snakes and I am going to add now to that list. I have two normal females both around 1800g and neither have eaten since I got them 3-4 months ago. I have offered them food numerous times in several different fashions and no luck whatsoever. Today I offered one a small rat and she was very interested and made every indication that she was going to strike and eat it but then would just lose interest. She did this literally 15 times before I just gave up. I do not understand what going on with these two and how I can get them out of this slump. Please someone help me out here if possible. Thanks.

Setup:
40qt tub
aspen bedding
water bowl and hide
cool side:79-82deg
warm side:93-96deg
I did pre scent the room but only for about an hour and like I said this is the most reaction over food I have gotten but then nothing. I just think its weird, but maybe the rat was too big, although she could have taken it with no problem. I suppose I could try smaller food and maybe pre scenting longer?
Re: Still Refusing to Eat!!!!
Well they are pretty big snakes so I don't know if I could fit another hide in there...

Hi,
Just to double check - there is only one snake per enclosure yes?
Can you get in contact with the previous owner to find out exactly how he prepared and offered food to them when they were eating?

Re: Still Refusing to Eat!!!!
When my hatchlings refuse to eat we will gently place a pinky into their mouths. Usually they will latch on and try to coil.
My adults have rarely gone off feed unless shedding, so I don't know if this would be possible for larger snakes or not. You might get bit, and would probably stress the snake out a great deal. Personally, I would do what I had to for the snake to stay alive, despite the risks.
