    How long to keep pairing.
So I've had 4 normal females lock with my 1.0 Mojave, Zeus. He's getting the job done pretty well.

So anyway, I've put him back in with the females he has locked with, and he tries and tries, but the females won't have any of it (or at least 3 of the 4 won't). The whole time, he just keeps his tail right next to her tail, but they won't let him in...

Anyway, does that mean they're done? Do I need to keep trying with them? Or just keep moving him on to other females? I started in August, and they've been pairing well since. Only one of the 4 females have locked twice with him.

I'm new to breeding, if that isn't apparent, and I'm no good at deciding if the females are building, glowing, etc... They are all still eating well. They scarf down the rats quickly omnomnomnomnom....:gj:

Anyway, just wondering if I should consider the females done with mating when they just refuse to mate anymore... He did lock up with a 5th just about a week ago. I'm giving him at most 3 days with a female, and at least 3 days (usually more) of rest. He sure acts like a horny little devil! ;)

My '10 season was a little off, but my one female was still pairing with my pastel male (with noted locks) 2 weeks before she laid eggs.

Eating well and refusing males off and on sounds pretty normal, keep pairing it's very early in the season even if you got lock ups in Aug.

Rotate him through your girls giving him 3 days off to eat and rest in between pairings while also offering her small prey items(keeps them eating longer IMO).
Plenty of rest and keeping him eating is a good thing when sharing him with multiple girls.
