When I got my ASFs, I posted some pictures. One or two people mentioned they looked too small to breed. Well, a few weeks ago I visited the pet store I got them from, and an extra female they had kept had 6 babies and was the same size as the five (now four) I got.
They've got plenty of food, water, and space. I am feeding them what I feed my Norway rats (minus a yogurt and bug concoction, and whatever I have laying around), so I would figure they'd do fine on that. The girls and male are all plump and healthy, so I am not sure...
I CAN get a hog feed if that has the following nutri-facts:
14% crude protein
.75% lysine
3% crude fat
10% max crude fiber
.75% min calcium
1.25% max calcium
.50% phosphorus
.25-.75% salt
.30 PPM selenium
80 PPM zinc
.50% max sodium
I dunno if that would work for ASFs and/or male Norway rats though.
But I'm up to any other suggestions. It WOULD be awfully hard to get a new batch of ASFs in though, and at 5 bucks a pop, not sure if I'd want to do that.
