    Newspaper ball trick?
So i was told to try to put loosely balled up newspaper in my snakes tank. Is this enough paper? http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/1...ag0164g.th.jpg

fill the entire tank, just leave some space around the water bowl so it doesn't end up with soggy newspaper.

Is your snake eating? How long has it been in that tank?

Not lately. Ever since i changed him from bark to paper towel substrate he hasn't ate. He has been in the new tank for about 2 days.

    comfort.

"In the meantime, to help him settle - fill his enclosure with loosely crumpled newspaper. It will allow him to feel something touching him on all sides and will help him to feel more secure. You can then drop an appropriately sized prey item into the enclosure (newspaper and all), after he's had at LEAST a week to settle in and leave the room. Check back in 30 minutes and the prey item should be gone. You can then start to slowly "wean" him off the newspaper by removing a piece every few days."

How long have you had him/her?
When did you change him from bark to paper towel?
What size tank tub was he in?
What are your temps, what are you using for heat and how are you controlling the heat?
    What are you feeding?
Are the 3 sides of your tank covered?

And to answer your original question I would add more crumpled newspaper,

Yes, just fill it up over and around the hides and between them. As mentioned before, the tricky part is just not getting it in the water. But it can be done. You'll want to peek at it daily though to make sure the snake hasn't pushed any in the water. (Maybe tuck the waterbowl in a corner so it's not surrounded on three sides by stacks of paper)

The snake will be able to push through them and move around them without any trouble at all...no worries there!
