problems with new snake rack, any ideas?

well we built a snake rack this weekend using a lot of information from posts here and friends who have built them as well. Our problem is now some of the slots are a VERY tight fit. We put in spacers while building, so I can't figure out why its such a tight fit now. Is there anything I can do to slim down my tubs so they are a hair shorter? Anyone else run into this issue or have any other ideas?

My 12 slot rack has a couple slots that are very very very snug also, because when assemblong my roomy applied pressure while holding/drilling shelves in place :colbert:, oh well at least I know the balls in those tubs won't be escaping ;)

put handles on the tubs to help you pull em out?

Wierd how if you had spacers in there it would do that

Depending on how you build it if you stack all the shelves on the tubs at once the weight of the shelves squishes the bottom few rows of tubs..you take the tubs out they spring back up to their normal height and then they are taller than the shelf making them fit tight.. I've learned do them one shelf at a time and use a little bigger spacer than what you think, that 3/4 Melamine is some heavy stuff..

After heat tape I would line each section with some kind of vinyl or plastic sheeting then install sliding doors on each section then theres no need for bins. but it looks great!
