    My very first escapee
Well, I woke up this morning to find that the lid of my male normal's enclosure was slightly open. I checked in his hides and did not see him in either one of them. I am such a dummy! I did not secure the lid correctly yesterday after I had finished cleaning his enclosure. He squeezed through a very small gap in the lid. I was amazed at how he could squeeze through such small space. I did however find him hiding in the in a tight space in the register of my where my heat comes from. He was curled up in a tight little ball and was very chilly. I keep him in my bedroom. Luckily I keep my bedroom door shut at night when I go te bed. My bathroom is in my bedroom. I was totally freaked out when I realized that he had gotten out. I was sooooooooo afraid that he might have scraped himself or worse! I checked him over very well for cuts and scrapes. Needless to say, he was not very happy when I put him back in his enclosure. He immediately proceeded to try and escape again. I have secured the lid with clips. I have learned a lesson this morning, always make sure that lid is on very securely and that there are no small gaps!

I'm so glad you found him! Mine went crazy after they were put back in their tubs too. Snickets escaped a total of 3 times before I ended up buying a new (more secure) tub for her. Once they get a taste of freedom, they're determined!

Oh I definitely know how that goes! Glad you found the little guy before anything worse could have happened:).

When I had my first Ball escape, my heart literally stopped. It's a scary thing for sure. Funny thing is I recently had my Common King escape yesterday but it was a coincidence that I just got out of the shower to find him right in the hallway looking through my Dumeril's boa's tank LOL. She really wasn't glad to see that I caught her:rolleyes:.

Hopefully no more escapes for the both of us!:P

This must have been the day for that... Hubby took out our little normal last night and didn't secure the lid when he put her back. When I get up in the morning, I check everyone and their temps. When I got to her enclosure, there was no one home. :(

Luckily, I found her on the floor right near the table her enclosure is kept on. Unfortunately, she was quite chilly. I put her back, made sure the cage was secure and she basked on the warm side. I checked on her one last time before I left for work and she was in her hide. She didn't seem to want to get out again..
