Using Used Shavings for heat?

I was wondering if anyone has tried using there old shavings in some sort of a wood burner?

I had seen grain stoves and pellet stoves wood etc. and After throwing out so many tonnes I'm sure of the stuff. I was wondering what sort of heat I would get from burning it. Or if its effecient enough.

It may depend on the type of wood.

Definetly worth it for the larger rooms. or even to heat a garage :)

That is not a good idea. As was stated, it would just stink really bad.

i use the snakes shavings for mulch around the trailer ( don't use rodent as it brings flys from all over lol)
if I usd the shavings to burn I make sure that it vented all gases and smok outside sicne i betting it wouls smell nasty if wet or had waste in it.

even if it didnt stink it probably wouldnt be too efficient.. i know you fan buy chips especially for starting log stove fires and stuff but you wouldnt be able to get it to start.. i think the mulch idea is the best use for them.. or even try putting them in the compost?

i use the rodents old bedding for mulch around flowers being pine in a heater the shavings would burn very quickly unless wet then would stink you out of your house might be the only thing worse then the smell of the used bedding is the smell of burnt used bedding

Well it would be a wood stove vented outside. I dont see it stinking inside to much. if at all.

Aspen would probably burn better. I think i'll give it a try. burnt droppings dont smell as bad as youd think. I burn them in a bin in the back all the time.
