bug in my snake cage!?!?!?!?

so I found a beetle in my ball pythons cage and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what it is and maybe where it came from... I use petco brand aspen shavings for small animals and I think it might have come from that, but maybe you guys can tell me more

ok I did some searching and found out that it is a red flour beetle... and I am more curious as to the impact on my snake if there are more, or if there are still larvae in the substrate or where ever it came from

I do intend to return the bag to petco and yell at them a little bit more than I usually do

Looks like some form of Scarabaeidae. Just a regular old brown beetle:P. Harmless probably, but can transmit disease so better that you took it out. Wouldn't think it serious but hey, you might want to write a letter to petco, get some free aspen out of it :P

yea this happened to me with petco same looking beatle thing. i was very mad at pet co i yelled at them they gave me a 20$ gift card
