Newest Recessive Males (Caramel and Axanthic)
A beautiful little Bell-line caramel male came in today from Heather Wong. He was quite active from the time I opened the box, attempting to make his way out of the bag while I was cutting the zip-tie and untying it. His coloration is great, and he should make a great adult. No matter how many times I see caramels, I can't get over how cool those red pupils are! Very happy with this guy. Many thanks to Heather! Anyway, here are a couple pictures I snapped of him before putting him in his QT bin.

I also never got around to taking pictures of the VPI axanthic male I got from Bradford Cole last month, so I decided to get a couple of him since I was in a photo-taking mood. This little guy is so funny - always trying to eat my fingers!

WOW! In all honesty I think that caramel turned me to the "dark side". I liked the lighter ones like I'd first said to you, but he is amazing in those pictures. I might have to steal him!!!

I love the axanthic too, he is just waiting to tag ya though! I see that evil look in his eyes! lol Good luck with him.

I'm telling you. Dark is the way to go for the best coloured adult caramels! This guy is actually in shed now, and even darker because of it. The purple looks a bit muddy on him. Still love his red pupils! As far as the axanthic, I really need to handle him more often if I want him to ever calm down. If I didn't watch him while I was holding him, he'd definitely tag me. He always seems to be starting to get ready to strike when anything moves, haha. He calms down after a few minutes, but he still doesn't like it when I move the hand he isn't in.

I want a Bell line caramel! They seem (from pics) to have the most purple.

    Beautiful new additions!

Thanks! The Malsin line also seems to have a nice purpley colour as adults and wouldn't be a bad choice either. I plan to eventually pick up a caramel female from that line because I like to be able to outbreed. I haven't really seen enough pictures of Malsin line animals though to say whether that or the Bell line typically looks better.
