I bought a ball python 1 year ago and she is now 3 years old. About 1 month after I first got her, I noticed she started making kinda loud noises like she's pushing a lot of air out. I had her in warm bath tub water the other day and she seemed to wheeze a little bit. She does not wheeze on a regular basis although I do hear it occasionally even when she's out of the water. I thought these may be signs of an RI. At this point I have not taken her to see a vet (it's difficult where I live). It has been 11 months since i first noticed those noises and she still eats perfectly fine, is quite active, flicks her tongue in and out all the time, and does not act differently at all from before I first noticed those noises. There are no bubbles in her mouth, and the fork in her tongue does not stick together.
Is it possible that she has had an RI for this long? If not, what else could it be?
Also I recently bought a Red Tail Boa (probably not a true red tail, but rather a common boa that looks like a Red Tail) and I have her in a separate aquarium of course.
I was wondering if the aquariums have to be far apart if the ball python DOES have an RI to stop it spreading to the baby red tail boa? Preferably id like to put the aquariums right beside each other or on top of each other so heat travels between them instead of being let off into the room and wasted.
