    Getting Really Annoyed
I bought a new male a few weeks ago and he is really starting to make me mad. At first I put him in with some girls but now it's time to pull him and he is such a jerk that he is beating up my little dumbo boy. I can hear them from the other room just screeching at the tops of their lungs. No physical damage has been done but jeesh I'm freakin annoyed. I really wanted to keep him but at the rate he's going he's gonna be the next one fed off!

His fate is now sealed. He seriously attacked my little boy and now he has one really deep gash on his neck, one on his arm, and one on his belly. He isn't bleeding much. I tried to feed him off, but no one is hungry. I took all the bedding out of the cage and put newspaper down. I don't really know what else I can do for him. If it's not noticeably better by this time next week he will be fed off, which sucks because he's my little buddy :(
I snapped a few pics with my cellphone, please tell me if you think he'll be okay or if I should just feed him off asap.

Keeping males together especially if there is a significant difference in sizes and they were not raise together from the start (example: siblings) is rarely a good idea.

Not the big rat's fault just something very normal.

Introducing a male to another one can be done if they are the same size however there will likely be some fight at first as well.

Man that stinks! Hope your little guy pulls through. I've only kept male littermates together and never have had an issue. Good luck.

I guess I just don't get it because they had been together for a few hours last week with no issues. A little of the I'm more dominant than you act, but they settled it and were fine. They are virtually the same size, but I think the new one is a little older... I didn't think there would be any issue because I've kept males together in the past from different litters, all bred in the same enclosure but separated after weaning them. The only reason I put him in there is because I fed off his cage mate (who I bought the same day as the new black meany) and I didn't want him to be alone. I geuss if he heals up I'll put him in with a girl... Didn't really want that many litters right now though.

Your little guy should be fine. I would just keep him by himself for a while OR put him in with a weaner or two to keep him company. His wounds are not small, but they are all in areas that didn't or shouldn't have done major structural damage to him. He should pull through.

Never keep breeding males with other males, it's almost a certainty that someone is going to end up like that, sorry for your lil boy :(

My males have zero tolerance for each other and will fight within seconds of hitting the floor in the same area :P

When i introduce a new young male with my males is during breeding. When i move females in with the males, i also move a new male in with the older males. This actually gets the males aware of him but not worried hes there due to females are around.

Never had a single fight to the younger ones. They wrestle with him all the time now.

Heres the new male i held back and introduced this past weekend. Hes about 100g and other 2 males are 500+g

I wish I could house males together, they absolutely refuse any other males in their midst :P

To treat the wounds, you could get golden seal capsules, break them open for the powder inside and mix it with Vaseline. Apply a little to each wound and it should heal with in a week.
