First snake - 2010 Pastel Male BP - enclosure advice
I just got my first ball python - first reptile to be exact. Its a male hatched June 26, 2010. Weighs 151.7g length unmeasured but estimate 17/18 inches.

I had the enclosures etc set up before I got the snake but I didnt know how large it would end up being so I currently have two potential tubs to use.

He just completed day 1 of his acclimation period. Hope the next few days go much quicker cuz I would like to handle him again real soon.

I have two tubs, one is 11"x7" and maybe 7 tall and a 15 quart Sterilite 16.5"x13"x6".

I decided to put him in the small tub but now I am second guessing my decision. I grabbed two small hides from the expo and with the small Dollar Store water dish it looks a little cramped. I am aware that the smaller the better but is there enough room for him to move around adequately.

Here are the pics of the enclosure, hes chillin in the cool side hide:

(I just got another thermometer with probe so I will be removing that one against the hide)

So what do you guys think? I took two pictures today but want to leave him alone as much as possible.

    A. Is the current enclosure ok for now,
    B. should I update the enclosure once hes adjusted, or
    C. change it immediately.
    D. Maybe its just the water dish is a bit too large.

Anyways thanks for any advice. Like I said i have the second ready to go, just need to move the hides and thermometer/hydro.

looks fine for now i'd say when it hits like 250-300g move it to the 15 quart. water dish is fine- u could do smaller to accommodate both hides better bit i dont think its a big deal. U should def know how big somethings gonna get before getting tho cuz eventually a 41quart + will be needed- but now things look fine. good luck and congrats!

Thank you very much for your opinion DesignerBP, I much appreciate it.

I will get larger accommodations for him as the time goes by or tomorrow if necessary. But i think its fitting.

I had to travel 5 hours to my first expo then back again so i had approximate sizes in mind from research, this site and videos but never had the opportunity to actually see such a young snake.

I cant wait to see how his first feeding with me goes.
