New BP not hiding?

I purchased a BP yesterday at an expo and brought her home. She's an '09 normal, 66% possible het hypo. Very pretty normal, if I may say so myself! :P

She's currently in a tub with 3 hides (2 on the cool side, one on the warm). Temps and humidity are a-okay, but she's yet to go in a hide. She came home at about 1 p.m. yesterday and spent the entire time I was awake roaming her cage. When I opened the lid to change her water bowl a few times, she was constantly going towards my hand (in a curious, non-threatening way) and trying to escape. I stroked her tail trying to get her to curl up so I could stop having to move her away all the time and she just turned around and poked her nose against my hand. A few times when I moved a lot above her head she'd duck and hide her head, but never once did she curl completely up yesterday. I have only had one BP before her and when I brought my other girl home she was very skittish and I was even bitten (Which was certainly my own, beginner fault). This new girl is showing very little fear, it's kind of cute! Haha.

This morning I woke up and she is loosely curled in a back corner, not inside any of the hides. I added the third hide in case she wanted something different than the other two.

Is this behaviour normal? I haven't been handling her and I have been trying to make her days as stress-free as possible. She ate last Tuesday, so I was going to wait to my normal Thursdays to feed both girls. Should I be adjusting anything to help her settle or just waiting it out? Again, she's not looking scared at all, I'm just curious as to why she isn't seeking shelter.

My BP was the same way! Well, she went in her hide, but she's only curled up on my once in my 4 months of owning her! I think it is a good thing, as long as she's not showing signs of stress. Which it doesn't sound like she is :) I wouldn't worry about it too much, she will go in when she feels the need.

mine is the same too! i have a 2010 normal and she goes in the hides now and again but spends most of her time either in the water bowl or chillin on top of the hide just their own prefferences i suppose !

Seriously I don't even use hides in tubs except for a couple of very picky eaters, I'm not saying not to use them, but 3 is a bit over kill IMO
Maybe a branch and some fake vines or something in the middle for the snake to feel hidden under?

Anytime a snake is doing something odd like not using a hide I double and triple check my temperatures, especially the belly heat...:)

My male goes in his hides but never more thant to "check it out"he just curls up in the hot side coner for the most part. He is in a 10Gal tank that is completely blacked out on 3 sides so that might be the reason he never hides.

Yeah, my mojo male refuses to use the hide on his hot side, in fact, he will knock the hide over and move it out of the way to lay right in the same spot it was!!!! (i'm using little sour cream containers so they're super light)

I just guess he knows he's too pretty to not be seen!
