    Quote:

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- This is the UFC 121 live blog for Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez, the main event of tonight's UFC pay-per-view from the Honda Center.

Brock Lesnar (5-1) defends his heavyweight strap against undefeated Cain Velasquez (8-0). Lesnar last defeated Shane Carwin at UFC 116 in July to defend his belt successfully for the second time. Velasquez knocked out Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 110 in February.

Round 1: Lesnar starts the fight by taking one step to the side, then immediately charging at Velasquez. Cain absorbs it and spins away, catching Lesnar with some punches as he goes. Lesnar uses his long arms to land a couple blows of his own, then bulls in for another takedown attempt and gets it this time. Cain is up quickly and Lesnar presses him into the fence. Cain spins away eventually and unloads on Lesnar with some accurate punches. Velasquez gets a takedown of his own and works some punches from the side. Lesnar is cut around his left eye, and he seems wobbly. Lesnar tries to get some space away from Velasquez and he staggers and goes down. Velasquez follows and lands several more uppercuts. Lesnar goes down again and Velasquez follows him, staying patient and looking for good opportunities to strike. Lesnar tries to defend, but Velasquez is all over him. Lesnar gets up again, takes a few punches, then goes right back down. Velasquez jumps on him one more time, and that's it. Herb Dean waves it off and Velasquez is the new heavyweight champ.

Cain Velasquez def. Brock Lesnar via TKO in round one.

Finally!!! Someone takes down Lesnar. IMO Velasquez is a very good fighter, he will keep dominating the heavyweight division for a while.

I was shocked I knew Cain could win but I didn't expect it to go down like that WOW. I been in this game for 11 years before it was popular and seen and been at and in hundreds of events, etc... And, I didn't see that ending that way that decisively I can't wait for the rematch to see how brock will train for that :O

Ever since Chael Sonnen tested positive for anabolic steroids, I hate to have this feeling of "well, are the drug tests back yet?".

Dang I kinda liked Brock as the champ. He just started to be "nicer"
Ya always need a bad guy as a champ.. Then you can always root for the underdog. Well I do hope he comes back.. Then again I would not mind seeing him fight his way back to the top.:salute:
