Animal Planet is at it again...

Well recently I was checking my Facebook and Brian Barczyk had a post about how Animal planet contacted him about a show for people who have alot of animals(basically Animal Hoarders) this was somewhat entertaining since he has a top notch facility and runs a successful buisness breeding reptiles. He obviously is smart enough to know a trap when he sees it and respectfully declined.

Well I just jumped on my local craigslist http://omaha.craigslist.org/pet/
and came across this little gem titles "How many pets is too many?' that was recruiting people who had 15+ pets or knew someone who did. They said it was for an animal planet series about the subject.Now I hate flaggers on Craigslist (I even went as far as to make a FB group http://www.facebook.com/?sk=23618316...37881772901015) but I went ahead and flagged my first ad today when I saw that. Now theres plenty of terrible television shows and a network will put out more as long as people watch them. I understand that I'm just frustrated because there are alot of dumb people in this world and this will just make our hobby look worse. I mean even if the got someone knowledgable on there it would just be edited in order to make Herpers look poorly.

I flagged that ad and it's back up again already (5min later) and my response was already flagged and removed!

Sorry to ramble over it but I just needed to vent!:mad:

I think some of the shows they comin out with is getting dumb like billy the extermanator like when he was exsadrating that a ball python they found would become a monster snake and would eat dogs (and that is not true what so ever) only thing appearling to me about it is when he gets stung by bugs. and the show rebel monkeys i think is dumb its just a bucha monkeys runnin around in the streets lol. now fatal attractions and some others i find entertaining

Fatal Attractions is pretty far off the mark too. I know of at least one incident that wasn't at all like what was presented on the program, so most likely the rest are as far off the mark as that one.

Animal Planet is firmly within the grip of the AR crowd, let's face it. Money talks.

I guess that I fall into that category since I have around 80 goats, 2 lizards, 1 snake, 11 mice, 3 indoor cats, 2 outdoor cats, 3 indoor dogs, 3 outdoor dogs, 1 bird, and a bunch of fish.

I have like 40k mealworms. lol

It was Animal Hoarders that contacted Brian. But keep in mind, it's the same parent company that has good shows too. I would suggest that if you're unhappy about these shows, then let the Discovery Network know.

Letting your voice be heard will do far more than not watching their shows or flagging advertisements by a marketing company that the Discovery Network pays.

These networks really dont have to understand something to televise it, they really just look at the amount of zombies that tune in, and then count the Benjamens. I dont think they care who or how it affects whoever.
