Hides during Breeding?

Ok so quick question. My pastel girl LOVES her hide and won't even eat without one (such a diva). Now I have my fire in with her and for the first 3 days no locks. So for the second 3 days I put some sperm of of other male on her back to get the him going.
Now I see alot of cuddling and the hide is pretty pointless at this point b/c it's like not even touching the substrate. So do you guys who actually use hides all year round keep them in during the breeding season?
They are both virgins so just trying to get them to lock up and get used to the whole process. haha :banana:

I was wondering the same thing...

I take the males out of their tubs and put them in with females. Water bowls stay in and hides come out.

this is my first shot at breeding them too and wondered the same thing. well outs they go!

This is my first year as well, but I pulled my hides without even seeing this thread. I leave the water bowl in though. When I separate them I put the hides back if they had one.

Thanks, this ran across my mind the other day.

I put the male in with the female also and removed hides. They just seem to get in the way when I'm looking for locks and I don't to mess with them when they are locked.

I have them out.....to me it would be like giving a women on a date a permanent bathroom to hide in or like a headache excuse!:)

Hide= not today I have a headache and to bad you cant fit in here with me sorta thing!
