    Vanilla vs Fire
Wanted to get some info on Vanilla and Fire morphs....seem to be very similar in look and genetic "activity"...brightening and "cleaning up" effect when bred into other morphs. Any info/advice appreciated, thanks.

THE proof is in the pudding.

Super Fire (image belongs to Mike Wilbanks)

    super Vanilla

While they do act very similar and even look similar they both bring different things to the party.

The main difference is that in the end result with the fire you end up with a white snake, while the vanilla the super form is endless when you mix it with other morphs.

sounds like you're saying that the black eye lucy when breed to other morphs will only produce whites snakes. but the super vanilla is ENDLESS? what happens when you breed a super fire to other morphs? it's not endless at a white snake, it also does some great combos. don

I agree Don, with the Super Fire, you get all fires out of the gene, with Super Vanilla you get all vanilla out of the gene, both supers do the sam ething IMO, just look different in the super form. Heck breed them together and you get all Vanilla Cream, quite possibly, one of the best looking combos around.

I'm saying that anything super fire will be white, you will not see pattern. I understand that when you breed a Super Fire to anything you will get fires.
Unlike the Super Vanilla when mixed with anything you will still see the pattern. For instance the Super Vanilla Pastel or Super Vanilla Spider. If you have a Super Fire Pastel you will not see the pattern. It will be white and you will need to breed it to see if is has Pastel in it.
That is why I think the Vanilla is a better animal.

so if you have a super vanilla that is also super fire you will see a pattern, but if you have a super fire that's also super vanilla you won't. don't reply I understand what you mean, but if I was new at this I wouldn't.

I agree with this completely! One reason why both are on my must have list.

After seeing a (suspected) pastel super fire in person at Sean Bradley's place this week, all I know is I need a boy fire to go with my fire girl! I really like the eyes on the black eye lucy. WOW!

The snake Sean had has the paradoxish orangy patches that some super fires get, but had a different neck marking that people who have also hatched pastel super fires say is the marker. Pretty cool snake, but honestly I want a totally white one.

I have never seen any vanilla morphs in person, but the photos of most of them don't really do a lot for me.
