    First bad shed in forever
So my boy Zeus in housed in a tub, so humidity is never an issue. I've never had to spray more than once to keep the humidity up for the entire cycle (80%). He ate one rat after a month fast and went into shed. He wasn't blue anymore yesterday so I gave him a nice big rat and he took it immediately. He had a little bit of flaked shed on his back but not anywhere else. I woke up this morning and he had broken shed all over the inside of his hide. He still had some on his tail and a big piece on his back. I held the shed and let him crawl out of it, it was nice and moist... I just don't know what went wrong? It was the first time any of my snakes of eaten while in shed for me. Is this a common occurrence?

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it happens.... Sometimes a little piece of torn "skin" like the one you saw the day before the shed can cause the old skin to tear when the animal is removing the skin. Sort of a "snow ball effect" on the rest of the skin causing to brake off into pieces, thus leaving some attached on the animal. Wait until the next shed and see what happens.

As long as the eye caps came off there should not be any immediate concerns for now.
