Non-dangerous lighting!

I am waiting on an animal plastics cage for my bp. I am using a pro-products rhp for heat. Just wondering how I can get light in the cage without putting my snake in harms way. I dont want any large holes cut in the top of my cage because that defeats the purpose of owning this type of cage. Any type of lighting that can go directly in the cage and not harm the snake. I have seen pics but dont know what they are using. Thanks for the help.

i use florescent light strips. I unwire them so i can pass the plug through a small hole and then rewire them inside of the cage. when unwiring them, i use screws to attach them to the top inside of the cage.

yea florescent or LED, anything else gets too hot, make sure the snake isn't exposed to any electrical, some of the cheeper fixtures might expose them to it, so check em out before you buy.

LED all the way. If you can't re wire the fixture, cut the wire and re-solder back together (or crimp or tape, whatever) and mount it. I've found some LED fixtures to be too bright, but a bite of fine sand paper rubbed across the LEDs will give it a frosted look and mute the lighting a little.
