basic needs: 10 gallon, screen top, UTH, thermometer(s)/ hygrometer, 3 hides (one over hot spot, one on the cool side and another for the moist hide), can use a light fixture as well to keep ambient temps up.

My big boy is in a 20 gal. long, tiles over his UTH and paper towels for the rest of the floor. Cave hide on the tiles, log hide on the cool side, Tupperware container in the middle with paper towels (moist hide), a cap from a 1 liter bottle of pop with water in it, and a cap from a regular sized bottle of pop with calcium in it. There is also a small ceramic bowl from my sisters dead hamster that is good for keeping large mealworms from escaping.

    There are 3 choices
    1. a dimmer from a hardware store
    2. a rheostat: http://www.petmountain.com/product/r...-rheostat.html
    3. a thermostat: there are many choices to choose from but if you have a limited budget a cheap choice is http://www.petmountain.com/product/r...ermometer.html but its best for only 1 UTH (I have found they have a hard time keeping 2 separate UTH's at similar temps)

I'll get a pic of my guy's set up. It's really simple but I plan on getting some decor for him :]

I personally used the ReptiTemp 500R because it is cheap but controls the heat better than the rheostat.
I have my light plugged in 24/7 and then I have the uth plugged into the thermostat so that his tiles are heated.
