Help Please.

I need some help with my Cornsnake and California Kingsnake. First, the Kingsnake. She roams around her tub all the time (she's in a 41 quart sterilite) and I don't know why. She rarely ever hides. She's either sitting out in the open, or she's roaming the sides of her tub. I feed her 1 large mouse a week, and I fed her 3 days ago, so she shouldn't be hungry. She has 2 hides, one on hot side one on cool, and has newspaper substrate. I know she might be raoming cause of stress but I don't see why she would be stressed.

Now for my Corsnake. I can't get her cool side temp right. Her basking spot is 89-91 degrees, and her "cool" side is 80 degrees. Thats too warm, and I don't know how to lower the temp. The temp in my house right now is 80 degress, so I'm guessing thats why, but I still can't get the temp lower.

Any answers would be nice. Thanks.

Im not to sure bout the roaming if he is well fed. I just keep boas and pytons but what i do with my lower temp snakes during the summer, is i get a lamp with a dimmer for the hot side and put a low wat bulb and dim it real, low so it gives a little extra heat on the hot side, and you can get a timer to just turn on during the colder part of your day.

I've noticed Kingsnakes and many other colubrids will normally roam around their enclosures during the day time, mostly because they are diurnal (or active during daylight hours).

The cool side for your Corn is just fine. The actually do fine at room temp, like temps of 82F-85F. I keep colubrids at room temp and never had problems, they always digested normally and had strong feeding responses.
