Snake has a wrinkles on mid back.
Well, my snake has a soft front side(1/3), and back side(1/3), but the middle seems to be rough / wrinkely.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks.
Erick.
Re: Snake has a wrinkles on mid back.
Are the rough part of his scales a duller color? Or less reflective?
It sounds like it might be part of a retained shed...
You could try soaking him a couple times a week for a few weeks, and then stick him in a tub with a pretty wet towel and as he crawls around on it he will pull the old skin off.

Any chance of a picture?

Re: Snake has a wrinkles on mid back.
Too low of humidity, and possibly not had its first shed yet.
These guys take 3-4 months before they'll have their first shed.
Dump the water bowl overnight and see what he looks like in the morning.
MAke sure your humidity is upwards of 60-70% at all times

Alright, done!
Thanks Trevor!
I will take out the wet paper towels @ about 9PM. (12hrs)
Re: Snake has a wrinkles on mid back.
Let us know if this problem clears up...
I like to give my blood 1 or 2 soaks per week, he seems to really enjoy sitting in a rubbermaid tub with about an inch of warm water in it for 30 minutes at a time.
This will keep him hydrated and keep his skin healthy too.
Does this soaking schedule sound proper to you 2kDime?
PS: Bulldog I just wanted to tell you that your snake is smaller than mine so an inch of water may be too deep, you want it to come halfway up the snakes body, that way they have no problem keeping their heads above the water, I have heard of people accidentally drowning their snakes in a soak that is to deep. Also you dont want to burn the snake with the water, make sure to test it with your hand so that the water is not hot, just warm to luke warm...
