    herpastat 2 error code #1?
    I plugged in my new herpastat 2 today. I taped the sensor probe to my heat tape. Its adjusting heat but the error code #1 is up and still beeping. Any suggestions??

    Herpstat II Error Code Descriptions
    1=Sensor not present
    2=Sensor is shorted
    3=Invalid Sensor reading
    4=High Temp Alarm breached
    5=Low Temp Alarm breached

    I know what the code means I do have a manual. But the sensor is in place and taped down to the heat tape that is the part I don't understand.

    i know my herpstat has 2 plug ins, maybe try the other.

    The Herpstat II is basically 2 separate thermostats in one unit. If you are only using one probe then the other thermostat is sensing a malfunction because the other probe is not plugged in. Just go into the menu and disable whichever one you are not using...
