Regurge

Ok we've had our RTB for a couple months now and he's always been a great feeder. Last Friday we fed everyone and he ate just fine, then sometime throughout the day on Saturday his UTH fell off (he's in a display cage and the stand it's on is a frame not a solid top) then that night he regurged. I assumed it was because of the temp changes. He went from having a 93 hot 84 ambient to having a 74 ambient/hotspot for about 4 hours while I was at work.

My boyfriend did a little looking around and it said to go ahead and attempt feeding on the regular schedule so we fed him a small adult mouse yesterday and when I came home from work today he had regurged again!!

Everything has been spot on since the stupid UTH fell off the first time, and I'm not sure what would have caused this to happen again. I'm now reading we should have waited 2 weeks and given him prey half the size of normal so we'll try that next time but what else should I do in the meantime??

After a regurge, you have to wait a week at least, so they build up more stomach acids, wait a least a week before feeding again. Just make sure all husbandry is spot on.

Since he has regurged twice, I would definitely wait 2 weeks before feeding again. His digestive system needs the time to rebuild the natural flora needed for healthy digestion. Feeding too soon will only make his system more out of whack. I'd also fix the problem with the UTH being able to fall off:)

That problem has since been all fixed up. I think it was because the glass on the bottom was textured so it wasn't sticking well.

Wait 2 weeks, then feed a prey item half the size of your normal prey item.

For regurges, even with really young snakes, I always give it a month just to be safe. It is so stressful on their digestive system, and every regurge after the first is even more stressful.
