Best insect for breeding for Crested Gecko food?
I've heard crickets are difficult and many people gave up quick on them. I'm not sure about mealworms, and I'm not sure about roaches.

Anybody have any input on which insect is easy to breed and best for the geckos? Or should I try crickets and see what happens?

most people feed their cresteds and other rachs the crested gecko diet (made by repashy). You can get it at a number of online retailers. I supplement with dubia roaches, as they go absolutely bonkers for them.

So roaches dont get to big for them right away?

I know about the CDG. I've been emailing Mark from the Northern Gecko (Who I'm getting my 5-lot from :D) for a while and he said I don't need to feed them insects, but they will grow faster if supplied.

I have two species of Roaches.

Turks: Super fast, non glass climbing, non flying, no noise and about cricket size. So even baby Cresties could eat them. They need warm temps from a heat pad or something similar. Fast breeders with heat. Lay egg cases so humidity in the tub needs to be moderate.

Dubias: slow, non glass climbing, non flying, no noise. Can get about 2 inches long though, so their babies could be fed off, and small nymphs. Pretty fast breeders with heat, give live birth.

When I was researching what bugs to breed, I thought Dubias were the easiest. I think someone had said the only things that sucks about Dubias is they can hide easily in the geckos tank. I've only fed crickets once, but I'm sticking with the CGD. They seem to like it alot better.

Mine will only eat CGD which is strange because when I got them, the previous owner fed them only crickets.

what you can do to help them to get on CGD is when handling them get a bit of CGD on your finger and lightly put some on there mouth and let them lick it up and do it for a few days then they'll be hooked :)
