How long to wait to handle after Dumeril eats?
Just got my first boa. I have a ball python and I always wait 3 days before I handle her after she eats. Wondering if this would also go for a boa? Or rather all snakes? I just want to be sure. Thanks

Congratulations on your first boa. I usually give mine 3-4 days. It usually takes about that long until they return to their normal behavior. Normally my Dum will lay half in and half out of his hides, but after feeding, he will stay completely in his hides or just his head poking out. My BCI's spend most of their time perching on top of their hides or on their branches, except for when they eat or are in shed, then they stay in their hides. I would say at a minimum of 2 days, but personally, I just judge how they are acting. I feed all of my snakes on a 10 day schedule so I still have a few days of pestering them before the next feeding...

I will be giving him his 2nd feeding this week, since iv had him. Very cool snake, love the pattern and color. Everytime I look at his head, the word "army" comes to mind. Guess it's the color and pattern he has, looks camo ish or something.

He just took his second meal. I'm happy, took him alittle longer than before.
