    Egg container - Oxygen transfer
What kind of method for oxygen transfer in the egg container do you like?

    1. Open lid egg container every day
    2. Open lid egg container once a week for ten seconds
    3. Open lid egg container after day 45-50
    4. Never open lid egg container, but have little holes

    Thank

Every 2 days, open sealed lid for humidity control and fan about 20 secs, lock back up and place in incubator:)

I use a sterilite latch top box for egg containers. It has no holes, but at the same time isn't air tight. But I still open the container once a week to check on eggs.

I use a sealed container and usually don't open it until it's time to cut. On clutches I am really looking forward to I do sometimes open it at about day 40 to candle the eggs and see what I got though.

I incubate directly in Hovabators, and don't use containers. I do lift the lid to peek once a week, and it gets opened more frequently when eggs start hatching, of course.

I didn't vote, because I use the same method as John. Never had any problems with not ventilating. The eggs don't have a very high oxygen demand. The babies get oxygen via the blood vessel network in the egg.
