    feeding size
Hello, Ive had my ball python for almost a year now. Hes about 2 feet long and lively and healthy and everything is good. I do not have a scale at the moment to see his weight. I was talking to a breeder an she said he can def. eat a small rat. Ive been feeding him 2 adult mice once a week and he takes them like a champ and seems still hungry but when i go to the pet store to get a rat it seems like theyre too big. Im scared to feed him to big of a meal but everyone says hell take it. at 2 feet do you think hes big enough for a small rat? I keep thinking its too big. if you need pictures next to something to see the thickness of him or length i can do my best.

He should be ready for a small rat. My peid and one of my females are 700 grams and they both will eat a small rat. The female will eat 2 if I would let her.

The rat should be as big around as the WIDEST part of the snake's body. If it is, then it's exactly the right size.
