Honestly I would say no. I have thought about the Candoia but decided against them. I was mainly looking at viper boas. Almost all if not all are imports which means they are usually snippy, carrying endo and ecto parasites and can be difficult to get on mice/rats. They tend to stay in their water bowl all the time and are very shy.

I would vote against getting a viper boa for your second snake.

Oh, and captive breeding efforts have been almost impossible. Though copulation has been achieved, when they have given birth the offspring die. To my knowledge, no one really knows why this happens but it does.

if thats what you want, then go for it. Just do the research, i have a solomonisland tree boa, which is in candoia. Viper boas just need a small tub, somthing to burrow under like repti bark, probley 60 to 70 % humitidy. not wet tho and, nice size water dish. They need lower temps around 80 to 83 would be good. you can find ones that our feeding on rodents, there all over kingsnake. candoia are awsome so if thats what you want go for it,dont let some one say your not ready if thats, what you want.

Like the person before me said if that's what you want then just research it and get it. I have a viper boa and I have to say he is calmer than my two ball pythons. He hasn't struck once since we got em. He doesn't stay in his water bowl all the time either. He is very picky when it comes to feeding tho. Other than that he's a great snake.

I'd like to see all the info people give on this thread,

Lately I really have been admiring Viper boas and since I'm gonna have my own snake room I want to have as much variety as I can. So hopefully this thread keeps on going.

If any of you have Viper boas, do you mind posting pics? I've only seen one in person and that was at the Tucson show not that long ago.
