My Colony is underway PIC HEAVY!
Re: My Colony is underway PIC HEAVY!
Looking good :gj:
I think I might need a ladder to reach those top tubs though, or is that just an illusion of the pic, they look like 6 feet tall? :)
Re: My Colony is underway PIC HEAVY!
LoL That one rack in the back has it setup. It's really great. I want to hold off a little bit though until I have the cash to buy them somewhat bulk because I can get them much cheaper than 4 something each if I do. I just have to figure out how to set up the watering system with those lab tubs because they only take small water bottles and that will be torture!
I have the tubing in a big spool though, if that counts for anything... lol
Re: My Colony is underway PIC HEAVY!
I got most of mine for free and the others I had from a while ago when I was breeding sugar gliders. :-) But I wouldn't BUY anymore
Re: My Colony is underway PIC HEAVY!
we all started somewhere sometime.
lab cages....been there done that. Pretty common anymore, should have bought them used ( I hope you did)
I just restarted asf's....I have tanks everywhere. Might try a rack one day.
auto water systems are the way to go. Dump the bottles quick and never look back.
Re: My Colony is underway PIC HEAVY!
Thanks!!
Suzuki,
I CAN'T WAIT to dump the bottles :P
My one rack with the watering system makes my life so much easier. I can just imagine the day I don't have to fill 100 water bottles!!!
Check out my post in mice. I just put my asf's and mice in those lab tubs. I DID get them used. Holy cow the price on those new are 50.00 each+ I got them cheaper, bulk used and it included a bunch of other stuff :-)
I have the shelf 1/2 the way built. It will hold about 70 tubs per shelf. So far, they're easy to take care of. The asf's aren't chewing the tubs, there are no internal corners for them to get their teeth around. They're giving birth in there well and have about 4 litters of asf's with more on the way :-)
I think those tubs will allow for a watering system (some of them have a grommet in the front and I think that's where it connects.
We'll see how this works out :-)
