Hatchling with a problem

I recently hatched out my first hatchlings. I noticed that when they were born one of them had something protruding from its vent (very small but looks like it from inside). What could this be? It does not look like shed but a part of an organ, I will try and post pictures later.

I've heard of males being born with a Prolapse Hemi-pene. This is more than likely what you are seeing..

As for how to fix it..with out pics I'd be scared to say since I'm not sure that's what it is..

It is a prolapse hemipene, after looking at several pictures there is no doubt in my mind that is what it is. The tip of it was starting look somewhat dry, so i soaked him in a sugar water bath and it seems as though the tip has been rehydrated. He is also going through a horrible shed right now and dont know if that could have anything to do with it. (none of my snakes ever shed like that but he was not under my care for the first week of his life) After the bath he dropped much of the left over shed he had on him. Will the hemipene retract eventually or do I have to do something else to help the process. I was reading that saline solution could work rather quick? contact lense drops? any input please. thanks

Ive got a bunch of pictures, maybe that will help a little more. If you notice the little brown looking mark on the hemipene just disregard that, that was just a tiny piece of loose shed that had gotten on it, he is going through a horrible shed at the moment. I need some input please what are my options? I know i could take it to a vet but i dont really trust them with my dog much less with a snake. I also added a few other pics of him, does he really look like just a normal??

This is his sibling. i dont really have any snakes with such a consistent alien pattern on them in my collection so this normy is staying.

Looks like a Hemipene to me. You need to get that looked at fast. I would try to keep it moist too.

I'd also say that looks like a prolapsed hemipene. I really would take it to a vet and definately keep it moist until then and try the sugar soaks again to see if you can reduce the swelling enough for it to go back in.

On the plus side he looks like a nice pastel to me. :gj:

The sibling is a normal as you said but I agree he has a nice pattern. :)
