Not a yellowbelly. Sorry.

Re: Yellow belly?
What makes a Yellow Belly then...I've seen many a yellowbelly's belly that are just like that, and you're saying no. Is there a definitive reason why a yellowbelly is what it is other than a reputable breeder saying so?

Well, the first marking is the belly itself. Yellowbelly's have a "checkerboard" or
"speckling" pattern starting from the edge of the belly and running up the sides a bit. The belly itself would be clean.
Second marking is the flames that run from the edge of the belly up the sides.
The head would have a blushing as well.
I don't see this in your snake.
Here's a complete "explanation" of how to tell a yellowbelly from a normal.

The color, blushing and belly pattern are not right in other words not a YB.
I you have seen YB that look like this
Either they were not YB or you have not learn to spot the specific marking that make this subtle morph recognizable and it's ok it can take time for people who are not used to it. ;)

Wow, after re-reading my reply, that sounded really harsh and it certainly wasn't intended to be harsh in any way. After reading the post about what determines a yellowbelly, I sincerely see what you're saying, and thanks. It's a huge help to me...

Some yb's have some variation on the speckled pattern though that makes it difficult sometimes to judge by just the belly itself.

I didn't think it was harsh at all. YBs are a little tricky. It took me a while of looking at tons of yb pics and yb's at the store to see the markings. It's like looking at that poster that was popular a while ago where you have to get your eyes crossed to see what everybody saw in the picture!
