What to do once they begin to hatch
My daughters ball python eggs have begun to hatch. We did the incubation naturally, but we have no idea what to do now.. We were not expecting eggs since she was suppose to be a he... Can anyone tell me what we need to do once they are out of the shell. I have heard wet paper towels, damp towels, etc.. I need sound advice....

    Thank you.

set each one up in 6qt tubs on wet paper towels. They can be housed together till they have first sheds, then setup in their own tubs.

Hatchlings i aim for a 92 hot side and 82 warm side to help with digestion as they age.

Why wet paper towels? Wouldn't they be too cold then?

dont need to be soaking wet with puddles of water. Just keep it misted down daily till they shed.

Together in a 6 quarts tubs with damp paper towel until they shed.

Individually house in a 6 quart tub after first shed.

78-82 degrees with a hot spot of 88-92, or 85 degrees ambient temp and no hot spot.

No handling unless absolutely necessary until they eat a few times.

Offer food after their first shed (live hopper mouse).

How long does it take for them to come out of the eggs? They each have holes and we can see them, but their not coming out yet. Any help will do.. Thanks so much!

Can take 24 hours or a few days just be patient and DO NOT pull them out, let them leave the egg on their own :gj:

So there is one out of the shell already :) and we have three more to go... How long does it take for that piece to come off their belly? And when do you put a water bowl in the cage? Thanks so much!!
