    Shipping to Alaska?
Has anyone shipped a snake from the Continental U.S. to Alaska? I do not see why this would be a problem, but I just wanted to check before I did so.

Shouldn't be an issue, Fedex offers Priority Overnight to Alaska. Its actually not any more expensive than shipping most other places either, surprisingly enough.

FedEx is the way to go. Make sure your packaging is tip-top, and don't wait much longer if you want to ship it this year. Alaska has had a cold summer, and winter will be there in a hurry. Overnight lows in the traditionally temperate Anchorage are already just under 45 degrees, so you really don't have more than a week or two before it's going to be too cold for safe shipping.

Actually you should be extra diligent when shipping to Alaska. The temperature can be a concern, sure, but so can delivery times. There are any number of zip codes where overnight delivery is NOT offered, regardless of how you book it. Some areas have up to a week long delivery schedule.

Check out this link at the ShipYourReptiles FAQ for a list of affected Alaska zip codes, and then double check against the FedEx guidelines to be 100% confident in delivery times for your live package.

I have shipped to Alaska before but it was a major city (Anchorage). I checked and verified the procedure beforehand and had no problems. However, unless it's a major city I would personally not ship to Alaska due to transit times and weather.
