    Popping pic request
Ok I need to figure out what sex I got on the bps. so i am asking for someone that can post a couple pics of males, and females so I can verify my iding of the snakes i own.

I hoping someone can do this so I don't have to drag the entire dozen snakes to the show just to find out. ( be risking too many chances at mites and other reptile illness for my liking if I can prevent it)

don't type without your glasses on lol

thanks deborah I got up and was making the post then hit rpost with out reading ( or my glasses on ) i just had a rough week trying to get these guys sexed and possible sold or I can't start working on the next breeding season.
I need 4 hands to do the picture taking and 2 to do the popping since i am the only one that can use both the camera and handle snakes in my house lol.

May just take the lot to the show and give the normals away so I can have the room (not that I can afford any extra morphs. )

Well, if they're popped correctly, there's no mistaking which is which. Here are two quick shots I just took showing the difference between a male and female when popped. Hopefully this will help. Best thing, is instead of bringing your snakes, see if someone there will just show you. Good luck!

First up is male. You can see his two hemipenes clearly inverted. They will also have a dark red color due to blood flow. They stick out like two little antennae:

Next is a female. As you can see nothing "pops" out. Sometimes a tiny "nub" will emerge in the same place as where a hemipene would be, but these are just the scent glands and are not hemipenes. You can see it in this pic where the arrow is pointing. This is NOT a hemipenes.

well then I am not doing it right lol I not gotten any males but all females and I know I am not that lucky lol. so I can tryy again see if i get hemi lol. I know i alwayd had the luck of aquiring females in my rescues so I may just be a person that produces females ( lol that be some like of luck lol)

It's always possible to have goofy sex ratios. This year out of over 50 snakes I've hatched so far, I've only gotten 12 females. So it happens. Best thing is to find someone experienced that can show you and to also practice on a known male hatchling. Good luck!

    well thanks Blue Apple Herps
the pics made it a lot clearer and I can now said I know the snakes sex. Those little nubs were what threw me off.
out of the 9 I still have I got 3 males rest females including most the hets(4/5) and the pied. sadly both my pastels are male.

the other 3 I traded to the pet shop for feeders but they were normal bps anyhow.

learned watchnig them but the problem was I didn't apply enough pressure and I was takeing the second pic for the males sos I was wrong lol. I keep retrying for a the next few weeks and ( on and off) and to see it still right. the males are the easy to id now just look for the blood filled tissue comapred to females .( don't even need a full pop ) since the butt is red too lol.
