    Thermostat
What should I do here... ive had my BPS for the whole summer and with the A/C on, i didnt need to worry about the temps getting too hot...

I use ASPEN bedding and it seems i get a innacurately hot reading when the sensor / probe is burried in it... so where should sensors be?

I have a BP in a 20 gallon w/ aspen, where should I put the thermostat sensor? I had it on the floor covered w/ bedding... i need to know where to put it. thanks!

spare no cost, which is best thermostat?

I had the suction cup on the side wall and the sensor's tip was touching the ground... but im not sure how accurate that is. since the heat pad isnt touching the edges of the tank (length wise)

I now use some foil tape to secure the probe to the bottom. I have found that the bedding doesn't always stay where I put it so the only temps I worry about is the hot spot (center of heat mat on tub/tank surface) and ambient temp.

I have a couple hot-glued probes to the bottom of tanks, but the foil tape is working just fine.

I am going to assume that you are using an Under Tank Heater. The thermostat probe should be mounted outside the tank, preferably between the glass and UTH. This will regulate the UTH as it reaches the desired temperature.
The thermometer probe should go inside the tank, under the substrate, over the UTH. This will provide you with a reading of what should be the hottest temp that you snake can come into contact with...

To answer your question about which thermostat to use. I use a Herpstat and Ranco's...

yeah... my room is pretty hot at the moment cause i have the A/C off... and i let the heat pad run without having my snake in the tank, and it got up to 120 degrees!! thing woulda fried her! if your room is already hot like 80-83 as it is, what do you do..
