    40 qt tub for a 3kg+ female?
I did a quick search and found that a 40qt tub would be OK for an adult female. I was planning on putting her into a 40 gallon breeder tank (already have the tank) but from what I have read, the tub is just fine. She just kind of seems to take up a lot of space in that tub.

Also, I use small/medium litter pans for hides, it won't fit in the 40qt tub. I have also read that she doesn't require a hide in a tub. Could you guys validate this for me please! :rolleye2:

I want what is best for her. I'm really trying to adopt using tubs. I can see how she could like the confined space, but should I try to get her out more often to "stretch her legs"?

BTW, I picked up a 66% ph pied proven breeder ;) Also picked up another snake as well. I'll do a thread about them this weekend (when I get pics).

All my BP's are in 41q tubs including my 3500g girl. Any of my BP's above 1500g's or so do not have a hide and even a few of my 1200g girls don't. My tubs are 34" x 18" x 7".

I use a small kitty litter pan in a 40 quart tub as a hide. Yours won't fit, or you don't think that it will?

The ball won't fit in the small :D

She barely fits in the medium size. I'll try and get some pics tonight. I do have her in a 40 qt, the Sterilite with the locking sides. I'll pick up one of the 41 qt the next time I'm out.

    Here's a pic of her

We had her at the store with us when we picked out the litter pan. I couldn't even squeeze her into the small one I got the next size up. She's an '03 from Chad Ramsey.

There is also a 60-61qt tub that comes with a hinged lid. It has the same floor space as a 40gal breeder tank. It will hold 2 hides and whatever else you want to add to it...

Both things are true. She'll be fine in that size tub, and she shouldn't need a hide at all.

Ball Pythons don't need to stretch their legs...They don't move around much in the wild and they do just fine, same with in captivity. They prefer small spaces, and she'll feel more secure and safe.

It gets pretty interesting when you throw a 2000 gram male in with a 3000 gram female into a 40qt tub :P
I'm like well I hope they don't want their own space
