    Bp always hiding...
ok so my current bp is not my first and some of the others ive had in the past used to always come out at night jst check things out and explore...ever since i got this one the most he does is poke is head out of his hide, i guess they all have there own personalities but sometimes i wish i could see him in action, other than when i take him out of the enclosure, its kinda peaceful to be able to watch them move around in a "natural" setting you know...i know the old saying 'a bp that hides is a happy bp' but i jst feel he aint gettn no excercies, i could be wrong, so to all the ppl that house there bp in a glass enclosure what do you think?

Some of them can be real night dwellers. I have one that doesn't come out until 2:00 a.m. or later, but during the day she will poke her head out to see.

I like the display cages that have solid sides, back and top, and only the front is glass. I think it makes the BP's feel much safer that way, and you can still watch them. I guess you could try to somehow black out the sides and back of your tank and put something across the top.

If not, they feel so very exposed with its "open" all around and above them. Might freak her out...

thanks for that info, i do have the back of the tank covered with that jungle theme paper background they sell at pet shops, idk i guess mine jst likes to hide out, ps i also find it strange that he stays on the cool end of the tank allll the time(82-84), oppose to the 91-93 warm end not even after a meal does he go to the warm end:confused:

The red heat bulb may be too warm! Ball python love belly heat! I would recommend a heat mat with a digital thermometer with a probe to measure temps. Also get a dimmer or thermostat for heat mat or the bulb! Here is a great caresheet: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ius)-Caresheet

Follow that as best as you can and you will have a happy snake!

Yes i think u should ditch the light and get a UTH, far more effective, they need the belly heat to digest.
