    150g female lesser hopper good?
I have a female lesser who is 150g, and is feeding her a hopper okay, or should i bump up to adult mice. Does anyone also know what are the rules of feeding, in terms of how big the rat should be when compared with the snakes weight? Thanks

Skip mice, go to rat pups. She'll be fine with pups, and you get her on rats quickly before they get hooked on mice.

Rules of weight: 10%-15% of Body weight. Or, about as big around as the biggest part of the ball python.

Here my 150~170g hatchling feeding on rat pup. It was about 10 days ago...

Just 2 days ago, they were feeding on bigger rat hopper in the range of 40g with no
    problem at all.

thanks that video help, my snake was born on 5/7/2010 and i got it recently from a breeder who was feeding it 2 hopper mice once a week. It is only 150 grams, i thought that was kinda low but then again some ball pythons have different growth rate.

At 150g it could easily eat an adult mouse or a rat pup. Hopper mice are just a waste of time at that size. I would maybe feed him 3 hoppers at a time if you have a bunch left in the freezer.

thanks for all the info, i bought some rat pup/hopper and fed her today and she eat it right away. she is an aggressive eater, i didnt have to worry about her refusing the rat. I cant wait for her to get big, now i have to throw away all these adult mice i got for free haha.

Why would you throw them away? You can still feed them to her. 1 or 2 adult mice would be a good meal for her.

I purchased 13 frozen retired mice a couple weeks back for my mouse eaters. Once took a thawed mouse once and didn't show any interest after that first time. I gave my 3 of my big adult girls a few of these mice each last week. 13 mice down and saved 3 medium rats.
