Re: temps for breeding asf's
Those temps should be fine. I have been breeding them for a couple years now and in the winter my heated rat room will get down to 50 when its really cold outside and in the summer I turn on the air conditioner and keep it at 70 to 75. They do tend to breed more when it is around 70 to 75. My rat room is in an insulated 10' x 6' room in my building with an oil heater and a wall A/C unit. Shouldn't have a problem, good luck.

Re: temps for breeding asf's
I would suggest that you place an oil heater by them in the winter to keep them breeding. They tend to slow down on breeding when it gets to cold. Mine actually breed better when it's around 80 but I keep my rats out there also and they do better around 70 to 75.
Re: temps for breeding asf's
Before I built my rat room in my building I was housing all my rats in my garage. In the summer I would hang plastic up around them and put a window AC unit through the plastic to keep them cool. And during the winter a few times it got down to the single digits outside so I had two self contained oil heaters (they look like radiators) sitting by them and I just kept a close I on them. I did not have any die on me but the breeding was almost non existant during the winter. I would suggest you place one of those oil heaters out there by the rats and they should be ok. The other problem you will have is freezing water. Just keep an I on them and they should do ok.

Re: temps for breeding asf's
mine breed year round. no heater or air conditioner. Only an exhaust fan. In the summer time the garage they are in gets up to 95 degrees. In the winter it gets as low as high 50's low 60's.
Re: temps for breeding asf's
Man must be nice living in Florida and not needing a heater in the winter or an A/C in the summer. Last summer I lost 106 ASF's on a day that got to 116 heat index. And they had a total of six fans going on them. That sucked. And when it gets into the negatives several times in the winter here a heater is a must.
The weaners that you put in the rabbitry place a heater wth them in the winter and they will be fine.
