Question concerning feeding

Hey all,

I'm new to keeping BP and just got one monday. Shes 2.5 years old and kept in a 50 quart underbed tub that is 91-92 degrees on the hot side and around 81.3 degrees ambient temp and cool side with the humidity anywhere in the 50's to low 60's. She is on Kaytee Aspen bedding with two hides and a water bowl. Anywho, my question is in regards to feeding. THe previous owner had her on 2 jumbo mice every 2 weeks. I just wieghed her and she weighs in at 988 grams and I weighed the mice and, frozen, they weigh around 40 grams each. I fed her 2 jumbos today (F/T) but i'm concerned about underfeeding and am debating about feeding 1 135g rat every 7 days. Should I try this or stick with 2 jumbo mice every 7 days? And she eats like a champ. The previous owner never had any feeding problems either and she handled her quite a bit ( she was walking around with her wrapped around her waist for some odd reason) Anyways, any ideas?

If your mice are 40 grams I would go ahead and feed 3 of them (4 at the most) every week if she take them.

ball pythons only need 50-80g per feeding. They feed very well and consistent on this size meal yearly. 900g ball python on one small rat is fine for rest of her life unless shes absolutely monstrous.

Nothing here is fed anything over 80g per meal and feed year round and grow very well.

Hi,
Does anyone know anything about feeding a California King Snake? We have a year old king snake and we feed him two pinky mice every 5 days. At first, feeding was easy. We'd put Slithers in a plastic continer and dangle mice above for him to eat. Then one day he misfired and bit my son. So we started dropping them in the bottom of the bin, but Slithers seems to have a hard time finding the mice. Not to mention the fact that he has almost outgrown the container.
My plan now is to feed him in his old cage and move him to a larger tank. However, we do not know how to transport Slithers from cage to cage after he's eaten, since he now gets aggressive around feeding times and has bitten my son on two other occassions. Any ideas? Slithers is a very gentle snake during nonfeeding times, but after three bites, my son is getting nervous about picking him up and so am I.
While I'm asking questions, just one more thing. Should the warm side of the cage be 80 or 90 degrees? How about the cool side?

FEED IN THE CAGE. No reason to take them out.

I currently take care of the adult colubrids at BHB and they all get aggressive during feeding time. At a year old you should be on fuzzy mice at least. Up the prey size as sounds like hes hungry.
