I have a few questions. I got my first bp last saturday he's a pastel hatchling, I picked him up from a local breeder.I set up his tank with two hides and under the tank heat he was going from side to side cold to hot but I noticed he likes to stay on the cold side of his tank the last two days could there be something wrong with him ? I fed him a live hopper sunday and he ate fine. I gave him two days to relax I took him out yesterday he seemed fine. I'm new to this and just not sure what to expect.

What are your temps in the tank like? The basking spot should be around 88-92 °F and the cool side around 78-80 °F. Do you have a Thermostat for your heat source? He is most likely just preferring the cool side. But unless you know your temps it would be hard to tell.

Thanks for the welcome. I have his hot side set at 90 and his cool side 75-80 or a little cooler at night. I plan on feeding him again this sunday. what are some sign of a sick snake?

I have never had one get sick, but I know that if you hear a popping/whistling sound from them and/or have mucus or bubbles out of the mouth it usually would indicate a respiratory infection. Yours sounds like he is just regulating his temps though.
