Is this a Queen bee or a Lesser Bee?
This snake is being sold on kingsnake.com as a male queen bee. It just looks like a lesser bee to me. Could someone please help me out?

    Thanks!

My opinion with the queen bee is that you pretty much have to take the dealer's word for it. It's hard to distinguish the pastel in the genetics especially when the lesser has yellow/tan in it already. However, that picture I would say looks like a lower quality queen bee if it is in fact one.

I forgot to add, the major distinguishing feature of a queen bee is the colour of the head. Pastels tend to have lighter coloured heads, therefore your queen bee should have one too. Lesser bees have a darker head

How can you tell the quality of a queen bee?

On retrospect, that definitely looks like a queen. As for quality, I'm a fan of the brighter colours. I like when the yellows show through. It may not be for everybody though

Definitely a Queen, just look to the head ;)
Lesserbees have a spider head pattern.
